BJN Day Out In JB... Again!
Woke up bright and early (10.30 am to be exact which is considered bright and early in my culture already) to accompany Mumsies to JB. She had some stuffs to attend to and asked me to go shopping at City Square while waiting for her.
Ohhoho, needless to say, I am always a happy lady whenever I get to go to City Square. Just look at the old entries I have of my trips there.
Mumsies and I took a bus to the customs, and I was really amazed by the new Malaysian customs. It's so big and shiny! Even the officers looked so much happier to be working in such a pleasant and pristine (Chuyun!!!) environment. And there is actually a covered walkway that goes all the way to City Square from there! No more walking in the hot, scorching sun! Thumbs up!
After Mumsies left me to my own devices, I went to Kim Gary for lunch. Yummy food as usual although it was surprisingly crowded for a weekday and I had to wait about half an hour before my food was served.
After lunch, I went to one of the many optics at City Square to get some new daily contact lens to replace the bi-weekly ones that I am using, but was told by the staff that my astigmatism was slanting the wrong way (heh???) and the only daily lenses that they have don't suit me.
I had absolutely no idea what he meant, but just blur blur told him thanks and left the shop. Well, at least he was really polite and helpful. I had more luck at the second optics and finally managed to order my contacts (which is actually the same brand the first shop had... Hmmm, weird...), to be collected next week. Another trip back to JB? I hope so~~~ ^_^
Anyway, Mumsies called while I was at the optics and I was kinda surprised that she was done so soon. When I met up with her, she told me that it was a public holiday in Malaysia due to some elections or something, so the place she wanted to go was closed to public.
Gua gua gua~~~ No wonder so many people lar.
We then walked around for a bit, but Mumsies was feeling tired and suggested that I go ahead to shop, while she came home first. And so there I was, shopping in City Square ALONE for the first time in my life. I AM SO INDEPENDENT! Anyway, just to make everyone jealous that I was out shopping on a workday, here are my conquests!
Don't be jealous!
An anti-blemish starter kit from Clinique, two Mango racerbacks, three new rings to add to my collection, a retractable blusher brush, eye-mask and lip balm from Bodyshop.
All sensible stuffs okay? And I am so happy to finally get the retractable blusher brush from Bodyshop. It's sold out everywhere I looked in Singapore. And the rings are so cheap! Only RM20 for all three!
After that, I walked around for a bit more and decided to call it a day shopping-wise because I knew I had already spent way too much compared to the previous times since all the stuffs I bought are "branded" and because I suddenly felt kinda bored shopping alone.
I NEED MY GIRLS TO SHOP WITH ME!
I then went for an early dinner at Sushi King which was okay although not fantastic and made my way back home to good ol'Singapore. And again! The new Malaysian customs is so nice! My only complaint that it's so big that I had to walk a long way just to get to the checkpoints.
Total damage today: RM520 RM = SGD221
Not really a cheap shopping trip but a lot of the stuffs are still cheaper as compared to Singapore, and I had a really great time. My only grief is that the salespeople at Mango were a tad rude. I am wondering if it's because I dressed like a farmer.
PFFT!
Mumsies lar! She say must dress like a farmer to avoid extra attention. Wait people think we are rich people and try to rob us. Next time I shall wear gown there! Hummph!
PS: Din't buy any shoes this time! *proud* Excellent self-control hor? I still haven't worn some of the ones I bought on my last trip loh. Hence must exercise reticence! HAAAAYAAK!
